What's Up This Week?

All around us, people are daily doing the same thing.  We get up in the morning, we might exercise, drink coffee, or eat breakfast.  We might help kids get off to school.  Some of us might rise early to get a leg up on our work for the day.  But why do we do this?  Well, we work for obvious reasons – to pay the bills.  But once in a while, we should ask ourselves, “are we passionate about our work?”  This is a great question!  Let’s remember that passion comes from inside yourself.  Being passionate means REALLY wanting to get to our workplace in the morning.  It means wanting to help the people we are working with and for.  It means making meaning out of our work.  In commercial real estate, passion comes in many forms.  We find eye-popping properties, make impressive deals, and match products with people who need them.  Our days are busy on the phone, on the computer, and on CoStar.  What does it all mean?  It means reaching out, connecting with the human race, and sometimes stepping out of our own comfort zones to make positive things happen.  Passion…find yours!

This week, we spotlight our own Ben Salzberg.  Ben is a newer member of The Capital Group and he brings with him a variety of talents and passions.  With friends, he likes to be active and enjoys entertainment like plays, movies, and musicals.  Ben’s sense of community is strong and he is passionate about volunteering, especially when it means working directly within the community.  The future of our world is extremely important to him and as a result, he has a strictly volunteer position on the Oakton Community College board.  This is no small feat, but Ben finds the time in order to help lead our future generations of students.  His civic passion doesn’t end there, though.  Ben ran for an Illinois Senate seat and, although he didn’t win, he succeeded in obtaining over 40,000 votes!  That’s passion!! Ben currently resides in Northbrook, IL and believes this…
Success is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.  Put great people in a  bad process, the process wins every time.

What’s Up This Week

It’s been a dismal weather week here in Chicago.  But it’s always sunny in the KW office of The Capital Group!  A new member of the team has come onboard – Ben Salzberg.  Ben hails from Northbrook, IL.  His interests and abilities span many areas and we are fortunate to have him and his big brain join our team.  What does this mean for The Capital Group?  Well, this means more brainstorming, more ideas, and more availability to our clients.  Now, on to business.

Currently on the table are some fine properties, most notably the property for sale at 300 Ridge Road in Arlington Heights, IL.  This property boasts 95,000 square feet of industrial space.  It is a former Daily Herald Printing Press building, built like Fort Knox, with 4,400 amps of electrical power.   The high ceilings give it tremendous depth and it sits on 4.5 acres, making it a prime development site.  Also, it’s walking distance to the Metra.  Give us a call if you would like to learn more.

The guys at The Capital Group are not all work, work, work, though.  This week’s spotlight is on Bill Kanatas and his philanthropic work with Feed6.  Feed6 is an organization founded by Bill Kanatas and his partner in an effort to feed the hungry.  By the way, this isn’t all about Bill.  Other members of our team have also been instrumental in carrying out the goal of Feed6.  Al Coulolias and Peter Cotsirilos have been members of the Feed6 volunteer team for years and rarely miss an event.  Our new team member, Ben, also joined the volunteer crew at the last event.  Kudos, guys!

Pssst…be on the lookout for the launch of our friend, Nelli.  Have you met her?  Well, you’re in for a treat.  She’s been a team member for a while, but we’ve been keeping her secret.  Shhhh…..stay tuned!
